In today's world, there are many major and minor political issues. Spanning from the beginning of the Bush administration to present day Obama administration, our generation has grown up in a world where politics are massively important. One of our first major political issues happened in the year 2001. In that year, America's hand in world-wide politics was forced. America was stuck between a rock and a hard place, it could do nothing about the attack, and face the ridicule of both it's own population and those of fellow countries, or it could strike back against the terrorist group, Al-Qaeda, and possibly ruin relationships with middle eastern countries. America chose the second option, and was thrust into a war. Along with this war, however, America also received a large dose of multinational politics! For the last 9 years, the wars within the Middle East have cost America countless sacrifices. America has lost many soldiers, many dollars, and many political alliances. And yet, America wasn't done with wild politics yet!

Another major political issue, this one
much more recent, is the presidential elections, and especially the winner. Barack Obama was sworn in on January 20, 2009. Obama isn't just special because he was elected though, he's special because he was the first African American to become President of the United States. This is, of course, after beating Hillery Clinton for the chance to run for President from the Democratic party. Had she won, she would have (Possibly) been the first women to become President. Once he became President, Barack Obama was not done with changing the political field, however...

As President, Barack Obama has been pushing many politically charged bills, one of the biggest being the series of financial aid programs run throughout 2009. Sparking political argument across the field, due to many not believing that those recieving monitary aid were actually in need of it, as well as due to many others believing the government was trying to take control of too much of the private industries, President Obama's financial bills were extremely politically charged, and even today, are still argued about.

Perhaps the largest, most politically argumental law that President Obama is trying to see passed, would be his bill on health care. This bill (Which takes almost a week to read if you were nonstop reading (And understanding) at a speed of one word per minute) has raised fierce arguments from both sides of the political field, as well as everywhere in between! For months, this bill has been argued over, changed, argued over again, et cetera. This bill has recieved more chatter in the recent months that any other bill in ages! Although chatter about this bill has mostly quieted down after it was passed, as of right now, President Obama's health care bill is undisputedly the most politically charged event of 2010.

Were all of those political decisions decided correctly? Were they all legal, fair, etcetera? That's for you to decide because in America, the most important political powers of her existance are the rights of the people. The right to vote for America's elected leaders; the right to speak, free from government oppression; the right to practice their own religion as they see fit, without the government forcing any religion upon them; the right to peacefully protest what they feel must be heard. Many, if not all, of those rights have been challenged in the recent years, the rights of speech and protest being some of the major rights challanged, and in the end, America has sided with itself. Americans have the right to speak their mind. Americans have the right to protest what they must, holding that the protest stays peaceful, of course. No part of America's political field has been more heavily argued and misinterpreted than this, and in recent years, those misinterpretations have caused many political issues to arise. The American government, the America's political body, has chosen to deal with these, and those issues have been dealt with in the most proper way.

America's political system is great, and America's political system will keep being, well, politics!
